Initially, he commands a section of my troops (Archers or Cav, depending on how I'm going), but the longer term goal is to have him as leader of my 2nd party. I did use him as quartermaster for a few early run-throughs (boost to party size), but I think it's better if you just gain that experience yourself. AnandaTheDestroyer.
(Remember, you don't need companions with good Trade skill for caravan leaders. It's better to send combat-oriented ones with good Tactics, Leadership, and fighting skills. Trading will level up quickly on them, quicker than combat skills on a merchant.) Further Addendum: Winter 1, 1084. 19.6k denars. 3 caravans running.
I'm not sure if anyone has tested it yet. in 1.7.1, you can just do horse trade. the margins are far superior to others. or, you can sit in a town and just buy all the horses, sell all the horses, over and over. it costs like 20k or so every time, but you will skill up trade. if you have 2mill or so, you can just brute force it this way 2. Find a town with very low prosperity. Ideally less than 2k but even lower is better. Go here and sell all your goods, again without paying attention to price. Leave the trade screen. Youve just flooded the market in this tiny town so now you can go back into the trade screen and purchase some extremely cheap goods.
This is also a good way to get high level gear to sell. (15k for a horse you cant even use until the late game-At that point you can buy them easy.) Fighting the City gangs in back alleys are also a great way to increase renown, get loot, and above all increase relationships with particular lords. 3- Look into marriages for you and your siblings.
Once I get clan 4 I grab a Charas or some corner town and bunker down till peace. Then store my guys, go out and level another full batch. I’d say I make 600 legos for a full game. Unless I mess up maneuvering them, or accidentally get into a badly outnumbered fight with an army of high level guys, my troops don’t die. Maybe lose 1 or 2 in
Sell at the higher price and move on to the next city. Start selling at Chaikand, and work your way north. Bring Furs back south. After a few runs the prices will start to even out, and you'll have to find a new trade route, but apply the same principles. By that time your Trade skill should be up around 50+. bClh.
